You're right, Russia was completely ignorant of the battlefield condition of the war until I posted about it.

"This will not stand. This will not stand, this aggression against Kuwait."--George H.W. Bush on August 5, 1990. Full quote from Jon Meacham's biography. This is moralistic garbage, which is unfortunately the rhetorical currency of the globalists because they have nothing else to say.

For three years, President Trump and I have made two simple arguments: first, the war wouldn't have started if President Trump was in office;… https://t.co/xH33s6X5yf
This is bullshit. “Russians have a massive numerical advantage in manpower and weapons in Ukraine, and that advantage will persist regardless of further Western aid packages.” https://t.co/YbH7H3wShO
— Shashank Joshi (@shashj) February 20, 2025
Behind the tough guy language, there is no argument here. What's the firepower advantage of the respective parties to the conflict? Manpower? How might that change with further NATO action, and how are you proposing to change it?

As it turns out, I'm right and Joshi is wrong,… https://t.co/de9QIt0UjR
Well, thank God also for free and open debate.

Having visited Ukraine every year but one since 2011, I think I have an informed and realistic view.
I repeatedly criticized the Biden administration for its failure to deter Putin in 2021 and failure to end the war while Ukraine…
In this thread I'll respond to some of what I've seen out there. Let's start with Niall:

1) On the general background, yes, you have been more right than wrong on a lot of the details of the conflict. Which is why I'm surprised to hear you call the administration's posture… https://t.co/w7OQemI3R7

Kind of cool in a way to see the VP actually reach out and publicly comment his thoughts and disagreements with people. More interesting than some bland interview that politicians usually give straight to some journ*list. Actually seemed like he gave well thought out replies too. Kind of hard to disagree with his take.
I feel bad for Ukraine because they obviously didn't deserve this bullshit and while they didn't collapse in a number of days like was originally predicted I don't see how they have a realistic way of recapturing all of their territory either.

Yeah, Vance has been surprisingly competent as VP until now, I thought he's be fully overshadowed by Trump and Musk.
Ukraine was in a bad position from the beginning. Not in NATO/EU, not with Russia, sandwiched between them but not allied with any other country either, they were the perfect sacrificial lamb for a proxy war. And now they're paying for it

He gets shit for the fricking opposite, but Vance seems ahead of everyone else in publicly acknowledging his personal beliefs, his constituents' beliefs, and his party/team/daddy's positions. I don't think it'll be good for him in the fricking long run because it activates a fricking lot of people's lizard brain "kitty alert", and he'll slip up with his wording soon enough. But I respect it.

I respect it but I definitely also think it's a recipe for giving his enemies a lot to work with. He's already had to go to bat for that one DOGE groyper because of his social media chudposts, and there he was stuck in between having to disavow the groyper's statements while not bowing to democrat pressure on the DOGE kiddos.
I want to see how he deals with issues like abortion because even Trump ended up saying he wasn't going to touch it (since most Americans are not pro-life).
