The school system is probably just fricked unless it gets a full on reboot and both parents and teachers are to blame. I go to a store at 1 PM on a weekday during just a normal day and I somehow manage to see multiple families with kids. What the frick? There's no in-service day or some made up school holiday, the kids are just out of school for some reason. Then we have fricking teachers who are actively working against shit like standardized tests - something that will actually open doors for you if you are capable of pursuing higher education.
