Lmao, foids keeping their wedding dress around for memory sake is extremely common, people would rather bankrupt themselves if it meant buying rather than renting a dress

I wish I was born a chink so I could make synthetic wedding dresses for burgers and become the richest person in my neighbourhood.

They buy a dress with the rationale that "their daughter can wear it someday" to justify the cost, neglecting the fact that their own mother's dress looked "too dated" to use themselves

You can't rent wedding dresses. Wedding dresses are made-to-order.
If you can't afford to custom order a dress fitted specifically for you (or smart enough not to spend $10,000 on a dress), you can buy a used dress on Facebook marketplace, but you will still need to spend a few hundred dollars getting it altered to fit you.
If you are smart, you then re-sell the dress on Facebook Marketplace to recoup some of the money. Facebook Marketplace is like 50% those smart people, and 50% "Help I bought a custom $30,000 dress and my fiancé dumped me. Pls buy."
