marine guy is lying, the other guy whos trying to testify to congress or whatever seems a bit more plausible. what do you think of it all. Did you see that big long post on /x/ a week or two ago that was posted on reddit conspiracy and RSP and such? Cool read

if you could link the /x/ post i'd appreciate it

as far as what i think i've always been a firm believer that aliens exist somewhere in the universe but the idea that they've come all the way here and somehow crashed their insanely advanced craft in places other than the middle of the deep ocean has always seemed so borderline impossible. no matter what somethings really going down but i'm not getting into any camp until more info is out

I find the concept of an alien drunk driving and slamming into our dumb monkey planet extremely funny though

In my opinion, Garry Nolan offers the most plausible explanation for crashed extraterrestrial craft: they are an advanced system that are deployed to distant star systems to build and maintain drones that gather information. Imagine some kind of "seed" craft that is sent hundreds of light years away. It's designed to set up shop near the object it is assigned to observe, then manufacture and maintain drones that perform this observation. In other words, extraterrestrial life sends a highly advanced, self-sufficient drone factory.

Now imagine that one of these things was sent thousands of years ago, maybe tens of thousands of years ago, maybe even longer. It's been operating independently for all this time, beaming back the data it has gathered. It's not unreasonable to expect such a system to occasionally screw up. Intelligent life that is much more advanced than us is still not perfect. Designing a system that can deploy hundreds of light years away and maintain itself independently for thousands of years while never screwing up is unimaginably difficult.

It's not hard to imagine that a handful of these drones have failed over the course of thousands of years.

In that case I'd expect more artefacts having been passed down for generations and likewise more things to turn up beneath the soil layer. Somehow all the crashes are very recent and all the old stuff is a story here or there about some strange thing in the sky. This seems to me like a very recent change of affairs, coinciding with USA emerging as superpower, so I think psyop too.

Yeah, that's a good point. The only possible counter I can think of is that only a sufficiently industrialized power might be able to retrieve these craft before the automated system can.

I 100% accept.
