US highway system appreciation post

Oh?? You need to go to a town 50 miles away and don't have much time? No problem fam, you can go like 80 mph before a cop even GIVES A SHIT. That highway isn't anywhere near you??? Babe, you're so silly. They all connect and we can get you from A to B in record time, nw. Just listen to Siri and take exit 279B.

And those big scary trucks?? They aren't allowed in the fast lane. 😎 We even post cute safety messages on light up billboards so you don't forget to buckle up (the government cares about you, you don't need God).

God bless the US interstate highway system (especially the Stevenson Expressway) and God bless America.

In local affairs I've noticed Texas has better roads than many other states. Highways were down to two lanes in the Midwest and there will also be shitty off roads there that still have semi trucks on them.

Colorado seems to have more potholes and beaner trash on the road (which is funny because surely Texas has more of them) and the freeways sometimes have exits on the left which means no consistent fast lane that is free from slowdowns and people suddenly trying to get in for their turn.

Plus only Texas seems to have Uturn lanes so you don't have to wait on a light and turn left just to make a Uturn.

“Don't mess with Texas” was originally an anti-littering campaign, and apparently it worked

Texas has the best highway system of any state I've been to. The frontage roads make highway entry/exit efficient and making a U is incredibly easy. Frick them haters who complain about land use, Texas has practically limitless wide open space and would be r-slurred not to use it

Roads are good. Too many oblivious Mexicans though. "Hmmm traffic is doing 75, I'll pull into the fast lane doing 30 :clueless:"
