talk to a doc. i get promethazine for sleep, so I don't always use booze. yes, that's the literal reason for it for my doc. "I drink if I can't sleep" - "Okay, I'll describe you something else".

Unironically yes. It is fricking amazing how long you can go drinking yourself to sleep every night and still function to some degree. And then you start thinking it will work forever. So if you're legit about to rope, try becoming an alcoholic instead. It gives you a few years to figure out wtf is wrong in your life or just hope for a miracle.

Darn, I've been semi heavy drinking for the last ~3 years tbh, but in the last two months of especially heavy drinking I've made moves to move forward in life and actually feel much more positive in the way things are going. Self aware enough to know this isn't sustainable long term, but maybe there's some truth to this.
