I've been searching for God everywhere but I just can't shake my atheism.
I am currently looking for a high quality Holy Bible to read and see if, through that, God will give me a sign. Some sort of epiphany or revelation.
The closest thing I have ever had to a spiritual awakening was a very vivid dream in which Satan told me I was very dear to him and he had great plans for me.
But that was just a dream. Please tell me where I can buy a good Holy Bible. Not some cheap Chinese shit likely full of CCP propaganda instead of the Word of God.
Read of the writings of the Saints, Church Father and Monks too. You can get the actual study bible that Priests get for their theology training if you want. Saints have written some pretty kino lit from their angst. The Church Fathers are all chuddy in flowery language and the Monks range from mystics to proto-rationalists who are drunk off platonism.

Honestly the only way you are going to really have a revelation or epiphany is through an experience of some sort, near death, having kids, great act of kindness, vivid dreams, so on and so on. I would recommend two things. One, go to church, even irregularly, and talk with the Priest or Pastor. Just tell him about your struggles and difficultly with faith, if he cant help you then just find another man of the cloth who can. Two, when you are thinking on matters of faith and theology, think not from the perspective of, "God's not real, so how can I explain this," and instead look at it through the lens of, "If God is real, does this make sense and how would it apply to me." The problem many modern atheists are dogged by is the assumption that God is not real, and they start from there when talking of theology and science.
For bibles I would recommend a copy of The New American Bible, the translations are much easier to read and are more digestible for a critical reading and understanding. I don't mean to knock the KJV, but it was written by Englishmen in the early Renaissance so its kinda hard to read for the first time. Also, try reading the writings of the Saints and various other figures through the Church's history, they are great for developing your understanding of certain practices and sacraments, and some of their writings are really spiritually invigorating.
And remember, Jesus loves you even when you're going through a dark night of the soul or your faith is weak.
Sorry bby I read this and thanks for the genuine reply. I am very keen on an easy reading version so I will get a PDF sample of this version, read a bit of Genesis on my Kindle, and then decide if it's for me.
Being a Bong, it didn't occur to me to look for anything other than a King James version so appreciate this for giving me a new idea.
