Accepting that horrible things sometimes just happen out of anyones control is unsettling, so they assign every event in the world to "the elites" or "America" or "the jews" because someone being in control, even an enemy, is more comforting than random misfortune.

I've gone through enough shit unforseen by the elites in my life like the Iraq War, Trump's election, Brexit to realize our world is controlled by people maybe 1 or 2 notches of intelligence above your local Subway sandwich artist. And their education has just made them smug and sure of their infallibility.

We've been proven time and time again that people in charge may be idealists and well-intentioned, but their over-the-top incompetence ends up ruining everything.
