Sounds like some French guys came very close to getting blown up by Israeli missiles and then having their families paid $1 million each a few years later to make up for it.

France was already hated by US and Israel for refusing to hop on the Iraq bandwagon, and Chirac who was openly criticizing Israel on the palestinian question.
My guess is that France were so fricking ready and Israel was about to be bitterly reminded once again God didnt grant bullet dodging powers to His chosen people.
