BTW, the Houthis are Zaidi Shias, not Twelver Shias like Iran (and the majority of the Shia Muslim world), the Zaydis separated from mainstream Shia Islam in the 8th century, when they considered Zayd ibn Ali, who led an unsuccessful rebellion against the Ummayad Caliphate, to be the rightful imam, whom Twelvers and Ismailis reject, so while the Zaydis have disagreements with the Twelver Shias of Iran, they are still nonetheless Shias who recognize Ali as the rightful successor of Muhammad, and hate Saudi Arabia, which makes them good partners.
And also, despite them being Shia, Zaydis are very similar to mainstream Sunni Islam, and in most cases it is very difficult to differentiate between Sunni Yemenis from Shia Yemenis, unlike in Iran when just by their clothing and aesthetics you can see who is Sunni or Shia, this is because of how early they splintered off mainstream Twelver Shia (so they never developed these "unique" traditions unique to Twelver Shiism), and also the geographical isolation of Yemen being surrounded by Sunni Arab states, so this makes it easier for Houthis to advocate a Shia-Sunni alliance and get Sunnis to support them, but still, the Houthis still do not 100% trust the Sunnis and Shia vs. Sunni sectarianism is still common in Houthi-held areas.
How about Alawites, you know anything about Alawites? Specifically I was acquainted with one who told me that they were secretly keeping the pre-Muslim ways alive under a superficial cloak of Islam, Y/N?
Right now I cannot do a long-ish and coherent spergpost about the Alawites, but watch this video below on them, basically they are a syncretic mix of Shia Islam with Gnosticism, Christianity, Phoenician Paganism, and Neo-Platonism, what is interesting about them is that they are a secretive esoteric religion, so in theory. their actual beliefs and doctrines are supposed to remain secret, and only revealed to the higher-up initiates, but just like Muslims themselves, Alawites are not a monolith, some of them like in Syria under Assad just claim to be Shia Muslims, downplay their non-Islamic beliefs and rites, and due to the demands of the Syrian Civil War, they are getting closer to Islam than being their own religion, others elsewhere continue to resist the political demands for them to claim to be Muslims, and practice the doctrines unique to their religion.
For example, Alawites are not forbidden from drinking alcohol, in fact they drink wine and eat consecrated bread much like Christians, also similarly to Christians, they perform mass, celebrate Easter, Christmas, Epiphany, and the feasts of John Chrysostom and Mary Magdalene, and just like Catholic and Orthodox Christians, they also perform prayers to saints, now when it comes to "unique" beliefs not seen in either Islam nor Christianity, is that some of them go as far as to claim that Ali is Allah, and view him as superior to Muhammad, though IIRC, most of them in Syria just claim that Ali is a representation of Allah, but not literally God himself in person like Jesus in Christianity, they also have their own version of the trinity - Ali, Muhammad, and Salman al-Farsi, and similarly to Gnosticism and Neo-Platonism, they also believe in some form of reincarnation:
>Women are prohibited from religious studies, since they came from the devil and have no souls, according to Alawite beliefs.
>According to Nusayrite beliefs, females are excluded from re-incarnation.
Also, historically they were always called Nusayrites, it was not until very recently in the 1920s during the French colonial period that they changed their name to Alawites, they also historically desired an independent Alawite state, and denied being Arabs, but as you can see, in the majority of the time, politics changes religions, and not the other way around.
basically they are a syncretic mix of Shia Islam with Gnosticism, Christianity, Phoenician Paganism, and Neo-Platonism

The combined (Sunni) monarchies of the Arab world have been doing the same for about 7 years now. This won't radically hurt the Houthis in any way and is more for external PR. Ideally, though this should stop them from doing whatever they've been doing in the Red Sea (I haven't been paying attention) as they only just got their peace deal with the Saudis et al.

thats dumb, killing them and degrading their military infrastructure is a real consequence. It's one thing for them to respond, it's another for them to not be able to respond with large amount of high tech gear or to not fear driving around their hood because they'll get droned.
They already have to store their shit in random far away caves/tunnels to not be droned. The more difficult you make it the better

The US is purposefully hitting buildings too. They aren't trying to kill random soldiers who can be replaced. It's always going to be symbolic at this stage
I still think hitting any visible infrastructure/gear and killing leaders is effective if it were to escalate though. Talent is way underrated in these discussions. A competent Houthi is way more dangerous than a 1000 hicks looking to make a buck to replace the last dude. Plus it's way harder to run a military if you can't have a visible airport or large public military training or talk on a cellphone without being droned etc, instead having to go underground 247.
The solution is probably to build cheaper munitions to spam them with like Ukraine. Make it an easier button to press as a consequence. The response always has to be so careful, large scale, and expensive w million dollar tomahawks and usually is just sending a useless ‘message'.
Low iq opinion. Burgers have weapons that are far more accurate, and we have access to our intelligence network for locating targets. Id be surprised if this strike didn't cost them high ranking members and a lot of equipment.

they managed too hit civilian ones as they have no counter-measures, so far no confirmed hits on military ships
The U.S. Navy destroyer Mason responded to the STRINDA's distress calls and assisted the crew, which was grappling with a fire, the U.S. military said. It said the STRINDA was struck on Monday night by a land-based cruise missile fired from Houthi-controlled Yemen.
The attack caused damage but no casualties, the U.S. military said.
It doesn't really say if it was majorly damaged, but the fact that we've seen no civilian ships sunk tells me that the Houthis probably don't have the capabilities to seriously threaten US or British Navy ships
