The combined (Sunni) monarchies of the Arab world have been doing the same for about 7 years now. This won't radically hurt the Houthis in any way and is more for external PR. Ideally, though this should stop them from doing whatever they've been doing in the Red Sea (I haven't been paying attention) as they only just got their peace deal with the Saudis et al.

thats dumb, killing them and degrading their military infrastructure is a real consequence. It's one thing for them to respond, it's another for them to not be able to respond with large amount of high tech gear or to not fear driving around their hood because they'll get droned.
They already have to store their shit in random far away caves/tunnels to not be droned. The more difficult you make it the better
The problem with Muslims is you can kill 50 but their garbage bags back home have already produced another 100. Its a hydra, unless you go scorched earth there's no way to defeat it.
The combination of these two stats means they'll never run out of meat grinder material.

The US is purposefully hitting buildings too. They aren't trying to kill random soldiers who can be replaced. It's always going to be symbolic at this stage
I still think hitting any visible infrastructure/gear and killing leaders is effective if it were to escalate though. Talent is way underrated in these discussions. A competent Houthi is way more dangerous than a 1000 hicks looking to make a buck to replace the last dude. Plus it's way harder to run a military if you can't have a visible airport or large public military training or talk on a cellphone without being droned etc, instead having to go underground 247.
The solution is probably to build cheaper munitions to spam them with like Ukraine. Make it an easier button to press as a consequence. The response always has to be so careful, large scale, and expensive w million dollar tomahawks and usually is just sending a useless ‘message'.
>The problem with Muslims is you can kill 50 but their garbage bags back home have already produced another 100. Its a hydra, unless you go scorched earth there's no way to defe-ACK!
Low iq opinion. Burgers have weapons that are far more accurate, and we have access to our intelligence network for locating targets. Id be surprised if this strike didn't cost them high ranking members and a lot of equipment.
Biden gave them like 24h notice of the airstrikes, I'm sure some expensive shit that was too heavy to move got vaporized but it looks like they are trying to not kick the hornets nest severely

Houthi showed videos previously of missile launch sites in their deserts/mountains, with electric doors coming out of the sand and shit. They were already well hidden long ago.
The pre-announcement though is dumb. Trump is probably seething about it
What do you think the Saudis buy with their oil money? Unless this is a 50 years-ahead meme accuracy wasn't the issue with the Saudi-led coalition's strikes. They just weren't effective. You can blame sandBIPOCs being shit ala the Soviet Union but still. The rest is super-sekrit CIA LARP.

what do you think the saudis used
Not tomahawks missiles. And it's not a larp, these missiles from the 80s are still more capable than what other countries field.
unless this is a 50 years ahead meme
Well this missile from the early 80s is still outperforming cruise missiles produced in 2024 so Id say it would be nearly 50 years ahead. I'm no math genius.
supew sekwet cia larp
BIPOC the cia has nothing to do with it. Army intel is amazing at what they do and they use satellite images to very effectively track targets.

@Communist_spez wanna see this guys reaction when a US ship gets sunk by the houthis or Iran
Iraqis hit and almost sunk a warship in 1987, if the Houthis were capable of doing so then they would have already sunk one by now with how many drones and missiles they've launched.

they managed too hit civilian ones as they have no counter-measures, so far no confirmed hits on military ships
The U.S. Navy destroyer Mason responded to the STRINDA's distress calls and assisted the crew, which was grappling with a fire, the U.S. military said. It said the STRINDA was struck on Monday night by a land-based cruise missile fired from Houthi-controlled Yemen.
The attack caused damage but no casualties, the U.S. military said.
It doesn't really say if it was majorly damaged, but the fact that we've seen no civilian ships sunk tells me that the Houthis probably don't have the capabilities to seriously threaten US or British Navy ships
