המשבר נפתר: בישראל מאשרים באופן רשמי כי עסקת החטופים נחתמה
— ישראל היום (@IsraelHayomHeb) January 15, 2025
Israeli sources say that they have received heavy pressure by the incoming Trump administration to get these agreements signed. Many are unhappy as they say it was done more as a PR move than as a real resolution, as a similar hostage deal in 2011 had freed Yahya Sinwar, the until recently leader of Hamas, main guy behind the oct 7th attack, and they view this deal as just a re-hash of that same situation, with potentially deadly future implications. Others are happy as the current deal could also mean that other countries and allies from both sides can step in and secure peace, and a quicker new deal for the release of the remaining hostages

First post about this. Pinning.
About the deal, while I expect this to be spun, especially on this site, as ideal to Israel or at least good enough I will say when the first geopolitics guys on Twitter were publishing the deal as a rumour the general Israeli userbase of Twitter was wholeheartedly against this and some went as far as calling it a lie. The anti-Bibi section did point out how it's similar to a deal earlier last year which would have brought back a similar amount of totally living hostages as well. The leftoid reaction seemed to be that the deal was better than they could have really wanted and they were surprised but Trump has probably promised Bibi annexation of the West Bank (or more specifically Areas C and parts of B) or something so it's a rugpull.
Basically, the Art of the Deal is a powerful thing.

The majority of you guys sure but not the opinion makers of this site IMO. All it takes is one @sandkwinn comment over something completely adjacent and the barely disguised seethe flows out. No offense.

I've said this before but nobody puts any XP into building up their Lore (Redactor) skill around here. I still get people asking me if I'm asian. (What part of trans-asian don't you understand?)
I've never known any Lebanese except a couple of you tards on this site. I got interested in Lebanon because I was consciously choosing a place that I had no personal attachment to in any way so I could be unbiased.
There's a lot of things happening in Lebanon right now and a lot of things happening in Korea. I've been focusing on Korea because, tbqh, I actually care about that on more than an intellectual level.
Now half-Turkic half-Persian women, we could have a conversation about that...

this would be a clever maneuver if true, I don't know if I believe it though: https://old.reddit.com/r/Israel/comments/1i22cjt/megathread_israeli_official_confirms/m7cgkrl/?context=8

The annexation of the West bank? Or the deal on the whole?
EDIT: The former I agree the latter is cope. As I said the deal was denounced as a lie only 3 days ago across a lot of Israeli society. That some may spin it now as a secret 4d chess win is expected but silly. I don't expect "peace" to hold however I agree there.
