I've heard that the translator messed up his pronouns or something and he was talking about Houthis in general. But I don't speak Arabic and pro-Palestine people lie like they breathe so take that with a grain of salt. I personally don't think that he was in the room with the hostages because I think he's a poser and not high-ranking enough to be trusted with the valuable hostages (at least at the time).

Either way though, I he clearly supports them and if he's not a member the only reason is because he's too cowardly or unqualified to join, not because he's got a single problem with them and he is acting as their propaganda arm.
