I watched Conclave and I'm rooting for "Ainda estou aqui" and Fernanda Torres to win the Oscars. The former star from "Os Normais" deserves it more than that pseudo Russian foid.

Conclave didn't really have a train, the elected pope was revealed to be intersex at the end, but Ralph Fiennes swears secrecy.

I think it's worth a watch but I'm not convinced is Oscar material (but then again, what is Oscar material nowadays?)

It was interesting for the 'mystery' so to say but if you know the twists it isn't really worth the watch in my opinion. The visuals were nice I guess :marseyshrug:

The academy has always been like this, especially for animated films. Loads of them would just vote for the Disney film without watching any of them

I felt the same way tbh. I know people on here really liked Dune (at least the first one) but to me most of it was a snoozefest. I imagine it gets better if you know the source material, which I didn't

The only nominated film I've seen is The Substance which I thought was great but am surprised it even got nominated for best picture, it's not the sort of film they normally go for. I do want to watch Anora though, I'll probably see it this week
