If he was one of the people who took over a building and held a janitor hostage (which happened twice, lmao) then that definitely qualifies, especially since they did it for the specific purpose of compelling action by the university.

Also, you don't have to commit or be convicted of a crime. Under 8 USC 1182 literally endorsing Hamas or the Oct 7 attack is deportable:

(B) Terrorist activities

(i) In general

Any alien who-

(I) has engaged in a terrorist activity;

(II) a consular officer, the Attorney General, or the Secretary of Homeland Security knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, is engaged in or is likely to engage after entry in any terrorist activity (as defined in clause (iv));

(III) has, under circumstances indicating an intention to cause death or serious bodily harm, incited terrorist activity;

(IV) is a representative (as defined in clause (v)) of-

(aa) a terrorist organization (as defined in clause (vi)); or

(bb) a political, social, or other group that endorses or espouses terrorist activity;

Apparently drug use is enough and it doesn't even require a conviction. They can probably get 95% of them on that and the rest on some vague terrorism bullshit

That's a green card, which is a lot harder to get than an H1B or student visa, which also come with a lot more rules.
