A guy who worked there, the late Shamus Young
wrote a long piece at some point (I can't find it in 60 seconds searching) about how worlds.com got started and their plan for how it would work as a business and why it's all fundamentally r-slurred and not something that people want. And that is exactly what I think of every time I hear about the "Metaverse".
