Working for Elon seems like a lot of fun.
Does twitter have their own physical infrastructure or are they hosted by someone?

Meh, I'm pretty far from an Elon peepeerider, but I kind of get him a little bit. Think of it as reddit during the NNN spergout - spez actually didn't want to fold and held out for a little bit, but the staff he has hired over the years has made it impossible, as they were pretty much rebelling in favour of powerjannies. With bird app employees, not actually having any connection to him other than the fact that he paid some money to the old owners, anything he'd try to do would be sabotaged to shit.
So yeah, while doing all of what he's doing slowly would probably be a safer solution, he'd still have to get rid of a pretty significant chunk of their workforce to be able to change anything...

Looks like it's mix of on-prem with some stuff in AWS and GCP. I would not work there, and I'm not sure I'd want to hire people who did work there.

If Twitter goes under, will Elon peepeeriders blame Elon or the engineers more?

They'll (correctly) say it was a good thing that he destroyed it

Neither, it's obviously an op by Soros. He's paying these people to quit, why would they quit instead of getting severance? Because Georgie pays well, that's why

Elon knows low level coding. I think he used to do quite a bit in C/assembly way back in the 90s.

I believe it, but that skill is currently gone if he's doing things like asking people to physically print out code for him to review

I doubt it will just be him sitting in a board room going over the code. He'll obviously have a few hired consultants well versed in programming that he can trust to go over it with him.

Going over code in printed form is the ludicrous part and is also what tells me he doesn't know how to program. Even with well-commented code I wrote years ago, if I have to re-use it, I sometimes have to go step-by-step into a function or object to recall what it was doing and why I needed it.
Even PhD's in CS can't just read through pages of someone else's code and immediately figure out how it works unless it's a small program.

So if you were given fifty printed pages of source code of Twitter, you could immediately understand what it was doing?

Maybe not if they were chosen at random from the entire code base. I wonder if any of the employees thought of that epic troll

My main job isn't being a programmer, but even with the ones I work with I think there's a reason people use GitHub or other source control for review instead of printing stuff out.
