Elon knows low level coding. I think he used to do quite a bit in C/assembly way back in the 90s.

I believe it, but that skill is currently gone if he's doing things like asking people to physically print out code for him to review

I doubt it will just be him sitting in a board room going over the code. He'll obviously have a few hired consultants well versed in programming that he can trust to go over it with him.

Going over code in printed form is the ludicrous part and is also what tells me he doesn't know how to program. Even with well-commented code I wrote years ago, if I have to re-use it, I sometimes have to go step-by-step into a function or object to recall what it was doing and why I needed it.
Even PhD's in CS can't just read through pages of someone else's code and immediately figure out how it works unless it's a small program.

My main job isn't being a programmer, but even with the ones I work with I think there's a reason people use GitHub or other source control for review instead of printing stuff out.
