not FAS-mommy!

Which reminds me, I actually got temp-banned on reddit a while ago for saying I wanted to have consensual intense sexual intercourse with Greta. Even though she already was 18 at that time.

I stand by what I said, by the way.

Tons of disposable email services. Why the frick would anyone send death threats using a registered email address? Admittedly, the target of the death threats suggests they may be a Q schizo so not surprising.

proton mail didn’t even provide that much useful data to the authorities, just the “account creation date and IP”. They used other logging apparently to prove it was him. “ Proton reached out to us to confirm that the only data provided to Swiss authorities was the date of account creation.”

Proton mails website clearly states that they will turn that over if given a court order. They did not turn over the actual emails!

After the other r-slur who got btfo'd a few years ago for stalking and sending death threats via VPN (who then promptly forwarded his IP info to the authorities ) you would think people understood by now that there is no such thing as internet privacy unless you go full on Hackerman. Assume all electronic communication is being monitored by glowies and act accordingly.

Proton mail didn’t give the authorities shit. You and everyone else in this thread are jerking off to some privacy invasion fantasy that isn’t real

I'm saying that there is no "privacy" online, no matter how many VPNs or privacy email servers you use, and people shouldn't assume that they have any privacy from the government online. Everything can be traced, and companies at the end of the day will put staying in business over protecting a rando who thought he was using some super secure secret email service. It's not that the government is a cabal of the brightest minds or anything, just that they have near infinite resources and the full power of the state to bring down on any tard they choose.

I mean the Swiss literally did not get his emails though. Proton mail could not, and did not, turn over his emails. (They could be ordered to back door the client, but that’d be a lot harder and is usually not done nor has it been ordered). You’re right sort of, but to a significant extent no. It took the government either actually tracking down Ross Ulbricht’s actual identity, or a long time of technical work that they pretended was tracking his identity. Either way, the privacy stuff worked. White House market and other DNMs for drugs are still up despite the authorities being mad about it. Why aren’t they traced? If the NSA can break Signal (maybe they can idk!) they aren’t showing it. The stuff does work sometimes. Which is useful.

Whether or not they got the emails in this case didn't seem to matter, since in the Fauci case I assume they had the emails already since the guy was emailing them to Dr. Fauci. And in the Europol case, likely they don't even need the emails themselves, just the confirmation of the users logging in and sending them to organize their climate camp. And Ross Ulbricht was only able to keep Silk Road up for two years. Does it matter if they just used traditional investigative methods, technical brilliance, or a combination of both? If they want to find you, they will. And just recently we had the ANOM app bust, where the app was supposedly an encrypted service that turned out was literally a front.

Maybe they will bust them, but likely whoever is kicking up the most dust. There are still a few laws they have to follow. And it's really in terms of scale: like if you're just using signal to buy weed from your guy across town, yeah I doubt anyone is looking to hard into that. But if you're using it to plan your next coup, send death threats to government officials, or organize your drug trafficking ring, I'd just assume I'm gonna get pinched.

Whitehouse market is the biggest one afaik, and has lasted for two years. And it depends, sometimes they get ya, sometimes don’t

Online drugs just must not be their biggest concern. I haven't kept up with Tor's security additions like vanguards, but before that all you needed to identify a guard node IP was to run some relays and DDOS the target. Then you run another DDOS while watching the guard traffic to find the service. Seems like these sites have stayed online more due to lack of LE cooperation than for any technical reason

In Europe the police have backdoored like 5 encrypted services that drug gangs were using in a row, but those r-slurs keep just moving to the next one and sending eachother blatantly incriminating messages about planned drive-by shootings and shit. It's too funny

Except they aren’t, because nothing happened, they just “ Proton reached out to us to confirm that the only data provided to Swiss authorities was the date of account creation.”, and “proton mail gave authorities user IP”. which does not matter for hiding your emails. Use something to hide your IP if you wanna hide your IP. Privacystrags lol

How dare proton mail comply with a court order to hand over data that their threat model already tells you it’s your responsibility to deal with! It’s their fault I didn’t use a VPN! This is 1984.

Yeah I’m with the Proton butt boys on this one. 🤣👌

OH NO THEY ARE LOGGING IP AND METADATA!!!!11 😱😱😱

lmao stfu 😂 These so called “privacy advocates” really should know better. I would love to see them program a mail service that meets their expectation of privacy. 🤔

Why the heck would you use Proton for illegal shit anyway, let alone without a VPN. 🥱 Western Europe is even more cucked than the US, better off in former eastern bloc 👮‍♂️

Feel bad for the boomers and whoever the other Art degree failures were. If you learnt to code or took a STEM course, you might actually be able to do illegal stuff online safely. 🙃

Oh well, I only got it to cúck googles/youtube's regional blocks (spoiler, didnt work )

If you're dumb enough to fed-post through a company that's trustworthy enough to risk giving your data, you deserve getting v&. All of these programs are glowing bright like the full moon. The question is just what alphabet they use, roman, cyrillic, chinkoid,

Like half of TOR nodes are NSA honeypots, Telegram was designed by the FSB, chinks probably have their grubby little bug legs in everything not bolted to the ground...

Counterintelligence tip 101: don't trust your security to a system you cant verify. And just because encryption systems are old, doesnt make them bad. Analog encryption, I.e. ciphers and codewords, are actually pretty difficult to crack without recovering a codebook if you use them diligently.
