If archlinux had some alternative to systemd I'd probably use that, but eh it does its job albeit in a convoluted way.

Kind of interesting how things become hate memes though. Most people who complain about systemd don't really know why they don't like it. They just know it's supposed to be bad and pass on that opinion.

Yup It's impressive how there's still push back in 2023. Just vague allusions to "unix philosophy" and cope.

I feel like BSD is stuck in not improving their init situation at this point too. There was movement in that space just like Linux but now they're hailed as keeping the fire burning for init scripts.

i've been using it for 3 years, not because it doesn't use systemd but because it has a gui installer for kde
