Rec soldering iron/equipment

I want to soup up an old butt tube ham radio I found on Craigslist and figured I should get a better soldering station rather than get something cheap. I’m ok with soldering I just haven’t done it in 15-20 years. I was thinking of getting this

YIHUA 853D USB 3A-Three Tools- Soldering Station, Hot Air Rework Station and Power Supply 0~3A, 0-15V with output and test modes. Also ºC/°F display, Digital Cal, Sleep Function https://a.co/d/4Yk6tY5

Because it’s a heat gun and adjustable and has leads for continuity testing and all sorts of stuff

Is this good? Idk

That's too many bells and whistles, just get a $15 60w heat stick that comes with 3 tips.

Theres always the pinecil or the ts-100, which it is a clone of. Honestly, you don't need much to get started. The most basic setup that will handle most problems is a pen, flux, lead solder, and desoldering wick or pump. Maybe helping hands if you need it. For flux I'd recommend to stay away from rosin flux because youll have to wash the board after since it's conductive. Solder pens are neater and less clean up, just need a brush with some alcohol to get it off.

You don't need a hot air station for what you're doing.

The Hakko FX888D is a top of the line soldering iron and is cheaper than that kit.

I have one of these Weller rigs and I like it a lot. I suffered for way too long with a piece of crap $8 radio shack iron.

For soldering t00bs it's almost all wire to wire. Like @Albussy_Dumbledore said just get an iron with various tips. Good flux will matter more, maybe some gator clips for heat sinks
