Anyone else think Youtube's changed their algorithm to show less preference for videos with higher views and/or more preference for newer videos?

I've been noticing this myself for a while and have also seen people bring it up incidentally on Reddit, etc. Like today I got recomended a day old video with 31 views Titled

(I've shown very little to no previous interest in David Foster Wallace, Coca Cola, or League of Legends). Also on my front page is a 2 day old video with 216 views called

.

Personally, I think this is a great change, but I'm not sure what Youtube's end goal is. I've read people say they're trying to copy TikTok but the thing is a Tiktok is a ~30 second time commitment, whereas for a Youtube video it's more like 10 minutes, which I don't think anyone's going to spend given how irrelevant some of these videos are. I'm definitely an outlier here as the only reason I think it's a good change is because I love hunting down obscure crazy people, and this will make that slightly easier.

I've noticed a weird change where it shows me more noob channels and less channels I'm subscribed to. Like if I've already gone through new videos from channles I watch all the time, it used to show me old videos from subscribed channels but now I'm getting new channels above the scroll. I don't mind too much as long as it's relevant. It seems to show me videos on the same topic as ones I've recently watched. Sometimes it's videos from topics I watched weeks ago.
