honestly thought this shit was fake

I unironically bought like $300 worth of garbage for like $25 because of a stupid promo they had

Will never buy again though, without the coupon I think it came out to like $75 and it really is just a bunch of random junk

I did the same thing.

Bought a coat off there. It's kinda shitty, but it was cheap, so :#tayshrug:

I've bought some nice shoes from aliexpress that I still wear, slightly unique and decently made my family calls them "those gay shoes" tho LOL

but I don't know if Temu has reviews where eastern european grandmothers cuss out the factory and take pictures of every seam

AliExpress reviews can be brutal, which is helpful

https://i.rdrama.net/images/16941379285910902.webp

you still got to pay $20 at least for a good shoe

I just checked Temu and I saw a suspicious lack of brutal reviews something I know aren't that great

it first stopped me with a sketchy "spin the wheel to win a prize but you gotta do it in 10 seconds" "OH WOW U WON $100 WOW" :marseyeyeroll2::marseyeyeroll2::marseyeyeroll2:

then it fricking LOGIN WALLED ME upon clicking another listing and wouldn't let me invesigate another product :marseyannoyed:

Ive seen the advertising for it in shitty mobile games alongside crypto scams and buying gold and selling people drugs.

Holy shit amerikkkans will buy anything

People's desire to constantly by wish-tier crap to save a couple bucks is probably my biggest pet peeve in first world countries because it drags the quality of literally everything else down. It makes it impossible for those who want to pay more to even FIND nice stuff sometimes.

Amazon is a great example of this.

BOY I LOVE TYPING IN "ITEM" AND GETTING 200 OF THE LITERAL EXACT SAME THING WITH A DIFFERENT NAME SLAPPED ON THE BOX AND HAVING NO WAY TO FILTER IT OUT THATS THE IDEAL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

OH I KNOW MAYBE I CAN GOOGLE PEOPLES RECOMMENDATIONS, OH WHOOPS NO ITS JUST 6 PAGES OF PEOPLE WITH NO CREDENTIALS POSTING TOP 10 AMAZON AFFILIATE LINKS NEVERMIND

I just want "enthusiast" amazon where each category has one neurodivergent who only picks out stuff from well known brands and local businesses in the industry. When it's stuff I know fine I'll do it myself but when I'm just trying to raise my standard of living and it's not a hobby I really want the input of someone who knows their shit to help me

Just add reddit to the product name and google. They tend to have some fairly informative threads, esp anything to do with electronics.

Used to do that but those regards start repeating themselves if they find one decent product. I always found that checking another webshop that is more reputable and only carries brandnames works better.

From there just sort by most sold and check reviews on Youtube, filtered on uploaddate so you get amateur vids from regular people.

Frick man why is shopping so hard these days

I miss The Wirecutter before it was bought out by the :marseyjewish: York Times. Except for headphones, everything I bought that they recommended was excellent. I've been using the phone mount they recommended (Ram X) for over 10 years. It's so much worse these days.

Amazons search is so fricking bad and filled with wish tier garbage. The site is nearly unusable unless you know exactly what you're looking for. I only use them because everywhere else takes like a week of “shipping label created” before fedex swings by to drag your box down the street.

Where do I buy a 54-pin APIM extension cable retail?

Why am I paying $250 retail for a cheap analog camera when it's $15 on Amazon?

The electrical distributor only sells the genuine $500 crimper when I'm only going to use it twice a year and there's plenty of $25 crimpers from China

I ONLY WANT THE NAMEBRAND STUFF CAUSE IF I DON'T HAVE A LOGO TO SHOW OFF WHAT'S THE POINT OF LIFE :hysterical:

I don't want name brand stuff I just don't want cheap stuff.

If I buy a nice $150 kitchen knife I'm not "showing a logo off" I just want a nice knife. And pretending the $20 chink dropshipped one is just as good is cope

Yeah that's usually what I do but sometimes I just want something off the cuff and don't want to go across town to find a bar specialty store for a cocktail shaker or something

I just want to buy the best version of a product, which usually costs the most. But the algorithms push the cheap options in a desperate attempt to get people to stop using them.

Thankfully with inflation amerikkkans are paying top tier prices for the lowest quality goods possible
