Well of fricking course people will move away from x11, it's a zombie protocol with every major thing nessecary for modern environments having been hacked in after the fact. Like it's base functionality goes "you can draw a jagged triangle! And here is a jagged square! And over here is a demented evil code block that somehow let's you play games. Don't question or touch it."

>The old display server was a nightmare for modern use so we made this. It's got some quirks but hopefully it matur-

>:soycry: MY WORKFLOW NOOOO

I wonder if someone will get mad at it because the town it's named after is 90% white, 10% asian (white rice not brown rice), and 0% anything else lol. Kind of amazing that my old hometown is now exclusively known for a fricking compositor. I mostly know it as a factory for bitches with names like "Katie Chung" with the most severe case of white fever known to man.

Only a year ago Wayland couldn't handle window transparency, broke regularly on Nvidia GPUs, and on live-sticks. And that's just what I encountered first hand.

The workflow I don't want to break is being able to display my windows with my display server, when Wayland can manage that they can replace X11.

You think Wayland suffers from being developed without good planning? Wait until you hear the history of x11..
