I got fed up with msmpeng.exe (real time antivirus protection) taking up like 15% - 20% of my CPU when new processes are opened and so I tried disabling it.

Disabling real time protection in the settings just turns it back on after like 15 minutes. So I tried to use registry keys, there is a hold over registry key from like windows 7 that is supposed to disable the anti virus, but Microsoft has decided that they are just going to ignore it and leave it in as a placebo for people like me to make it just a bit harder to disable.

I ended up having to download some program written by third worlders called iobit unlocker to unlock the file so I could just delete it.

But as soon as I deleted it windows started worrying that they couldn't sell my data to the US government so they started running a program called like compattelchkr.exe to scan my computer and see if I have made any changes that might invalidate the value of the telemetry data they want to sell of me jacking off at 5 am.

Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer are literally demons from the 9th circle of heck and I want them to suffer.

listen Jack, have you considered

The CompatTelRunner.exe file is a Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry file found in your C:\Windows\System32 folder. In order to keep Windows devices secure and improve the quality of its services, Microsoft uses Telemetry to collect system data and information. The CompatTelRunner.exe file is also used to upgrade your system to the latest OS version and install the latest updates.

About your query in getting rid of the system file completely, we'd like to inform you that this is enabled by default and considered as part of the required Windows services since it gets installed every time your system downloads a new update. This is also the main reason why you can only disable it in your Task Scheduler as it ensures compatibility if you want to update to the latest version of Windows.

Do not hesitate to reply if you need more help.

Regards.

Pretty sure microshits strategy is to make all their on premise solutions absolutely shit so you use their cloud services.

This is what's been happening for the enterprise, pretty soon microshit will roll out cloud at home where your little netbook connects to an azure vdi desktop in the sky. Maybe they've already started this.

You will own nothing.

As you might imagine, all this snapshot recording comes at a hardware penalty. To use Recall, users will need to purchase one of the new "Copilot Plus PCs" powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite chips, which include the necessary neural processing unit (NPU). There are also minimum storage requirements for running Recall, with a minimum of 256GB of hard drive space and 50GB of available space. The default allocation for Recall on a 256GB device is 25GB, which can store approximately three months of snapshots. Users can adjust the allocation in their PC settings, with old snapshots being deleted once the allocated storage is full.
