I'm genuinely surprised people are surprised by this.

What the frick did all of you think Total Informational Awareness fricking meant?

Did you actually tell yourselves

>they wouldn't do that, that's illegal

>someone would talk about it (semiotic subtext: "i would believe this if i heard it because someone Reputable would tell me about it")

>it would be stopped by court/the system/the process/etc.

You are in the fricking endgame now. If you genuinely dissent against the western hyperstate or the nascent but growing globostate you will be dealt with. The old old guard is out in the intel world, now it's the younger old guard. They genuinely grok what a single intelligent and dissatisfied person can do in the era of instant global communication. In the era of DNA printers you can build at home. In the era cheap public ASICs built to spec on demand.

Make no fricking mistake that this is not new, they've just decided to start telling you about it.

Understand that that means the game is now changing. Cory Doctorow is a gay r-slur but his old shit was bangers, and outlined a specific type of dystopia that we are currently in the process of building.

That's great and all, but I asked for my burger without cheese.
