i mostly use VS code nowadays but i still edit config files and small scripts with vim

i only ever use vim to edit files over ssh, i cant imagine using it as my main IDE

i used it exclusively for a long time but it does become cumbersome with larger projects. or maybe i just never got gud enough

convenient side pane of folders is much better than navigating large projects with a terminal, even if you're tmuxmaxxing

I use nerdtree for vim to display the files/folders in a side panel, it works pretty well

Why do you even need an IDE? None of the features help me write code.

Some IDE features are nice. autocomplete, especially paired with annotations of arguments and their types, helps a bit. Jump to definition is useful too.

As long as you save more time than you waste by waiting 5 minutes for the IDE to boot up, it can be worth it
