Is anybody really running Gentoo anymore? I remember that shit when everyone was trying to optimize their builds for shitty computers (early 2000s) like oh boy if I compile every fricking binary in the system with funroll loops that will give me an 0.0000000000025% performance increase on my Pentium II. I got stupid and tried to use it myself on my own shitty computer and it compiled for like 8 or 10 hours. Because my computer was shitty. What a pointless exercise.

I think pretty much everyone besides people who like ASCII art too much or only want their computer to do exactly what they tell it to do have moved to Ubuntu or mint or maybe endeavor.

Manjaros pretty nice, it's got the advantages of Arch with the ability to be lazy as frick like Ubuntu.

Youre not lazy, you're dumb and saying you are lazy as an excuse. :marseydisagree:

yeah wild how people would want to use a computer to compute things instead of to spend a weekend copy-pasting 400 install commands from their macros instead of 50 that are actually things they might remember the name of.

seriously though, gui installation feeling slow is its own punishment but also completely equal to a archwiki and llm search, but it's not like im not running notepad++ and foobar in wine and a bunch of other inoptimal shit anyways and there's plenty of things my pc does I truly don't give a shit about but still want it to do like bluetooth. I'll swap to arch for daily use when I'm like too broke to afford a mouse or some shit.

Gentoo has been doing binary packages for a few years which boosted its userbase.

No I don't know why you would use it over archlinux then.
