I found private trackers to be a decent solution to the economics of torrenting.

It sucks if you want to put zero effort into your free media library though.

I personally don't even care about watching tv or movies so much but legitimately enjoyed ripping music for what.cd bounties back in the day.

Once I'm more settled at my house I considered getting back into it using a new HiFi record player.

From my personal experience with trackers, they're useful if you're into niche yellow shit :marseychingchong: . But if you're a God respecting, flag saluting, hot dog munching American :marseysaluteusa: , public torrents are going to service your diet of country music :marseybountyhunter: and Hollywood films :marseymerchant: just fine.

What sort of content are we talking about here? The public zipperhead tracker seems to do me fine for pretty much everything I could want.

Yeah, it doesn't have Oh! Mikey. ...but TPB does.

My trusted sources from the Orient :marseydragonnewyear: tell me that really obscure Yellow Shit® like older Japanese Jazz records can be a hit-or-miss to find on public trackers.

I'm interested in getting into private trackers but idk if it's worth dealing with the type of people who use and run them.

It's fine. You don't need to interact with the community in basically any way. Once you're on a reputable tracker, with decent stats, you can request invites to other trackers. There's no interview when you do this, no back-and-forth, you just ask and give them your email and they email you an invite link.

The forums are full of r-slurs and some of the mods are powertripping like all jannies but again you don't need to interact with them in any way to use the sites as they're intended to be used - to :marseypirate: shit.

If you upload shit though you should probably read through the rules. They're usually pretty explicit.

It's not unless you're a weeb that needs niche garbage (animebytes)

if you're a weeb well keep yourself safe

if you want literally anything else just pay for usenet

if you can't find it on usenet then it's prob on a niche, :marseytrain:-culture private tracker but you're never going to get an invite to the ones that carry your niche crap, so go touch grass instead of worrying about consuming niche media

They haven't killed or jailed nearly enough intellectuals for that.

What does an AI conference have in common with a neo-nazi meeting? The answer is simple: zero black people. It's true: as I looked around the room at all the attendees, I saw many Asians, Whites, and Indians, but not a single Black person in the room. I don't say this in a critical way: to be honest, it was probably for the best. The level of woke white guilt in a lot of these tech companies is so intense that if a black AI developer actually existed, they would probably have kneeled at his feet and pronounced him the DEI messiah right there and then. Every company represented there would have tried to hire him so that they could proudly say they worked with the only black AI developer on the eastern seaboard, and I'm sure that they would have slobbered all over his feet messily in a pathetic bid to ingratiate themselves. Don't worry, black nerds: I am here to save you from this social awkwardness. I will be your Paul Atreides or your Lawrence of Arabia and tell you exactly what goes on at one of these events.
