I mean if someone wants to pull the PACER records for it we could see how shit it is :marseyinshallah:

But given his preliminary injunction was denied on what appears to be mostly procedural deficiencies, I would assume the complaint is :crap:

Most of the good stuff is on Court Listener, like his complaint and motion for preliminary injunction. There's a fair amount of nonstandard formatting, as to be expected for a pro se litigant, and the use of numbered lists and weird bolding is typical of ChatGPT usage.

Exhibit 4 on his amended complaint is inadvertently darning IMO. It includes UMN's fact-findings, and to be quite frank looking at what his exam contained and what Chat GPT outputs I'm 100% certain he cheated. Also no discussion on the merits. Judge has smacked him down for blatant noncompliance with the FRCP and has referred him to Minnesota's Pro Se assistance project.

I will state that my assumption that he cheated may be fueled by seeing international students cheat all the time in my undergrad and grad program at UChicago half a decade ago, and now also seeing them blatantly use Generative AI in law school every single day. Schools are going to be moving back to closed note in-person exams only within a year or two because this is uncontrollable.

AI detection cowtools are incredibly bad since they flag sentences that use frequent commas or somewhat awkward wording. Also talking about a subject and including another subject in the same sentence that is related but not directly the same thing mentioned leads to flagging.

That's wild. Imagine if in 1980 you were fired for typing your thesis on a computer

It wasn't a thesis. It was on some exam he had to take before he could start his thesis?

Also he's a post doc research assistant remotely working on his second PhD for hospital administration and health economics after his econ one??

I'm also confused how a guy remotely doing a PhD and supposedly from poor rural China had the money to go to school in Europe and America and travel the globe.

I don't trust anyone involved in this story, but I trust the journ*lists the least.

And regardless of all that, the bullet points and sectioning and his former written work seem pretty darning, but llms are basically the future of search and learning anyways (not because they're good but everything else is worse).
