How to search for deleted crypto wallets on my old hard drives

I learned about bitcoin from the gawker article about the Silk Road

I believed I mined mined small amount back then

I have some old hard drives from that era but haven't bothered looking around for it

I deleted and reinstalled my os very often because Linux was (and still remains) broken butt garbage so I'm assuming I probably overwrite the key files long ago

Bored today so I guess I'll look around

What is the safest way to search for deleted shit on old drives without fricking up the drives and further deleting it

!linuxchads !schizomaxxxers !codedels

I don't believe anyone has ever successfully recovered data that's been wiped at least once, it's just a theoretical possibility that some nation state might have the tech required.

I've heard anecdotes of single wipe drives having recoverable data

You'd need to literally disassemble the hard drive and place the disk in a special reader designed explicitly for that purpose.

I'm assuming @Discuss isn't going to do that, in fact I'm going to further assume he has no access to such a machine.

The most expensive part of that process is having a clean room with positive airflow which is trivial th hardware and software runs sub 1k from dolphin recovery
