Excellent timing considering how more people are switching to alternative browsers this week due to the firef*x TOS change:marseylaughpoundfist:. The left needs to learn how to pick and choose their battles better. Can't have shit.

Honestly brave is fine when you turn off the crypto shit that you have to opt in for anyway.

What are the limitations to Brave Shields? The FF forks have to have better blocking and anti-tracking overall if Brave led their Manifest V3 article with:

  • Manifest V3 will not weaken Brave Shields in any way
  • For as long as we're able (and assuming the cooperation of the extension authors), Brave will continue to support some privacy-relevant MV2 extensions—specifically AdGuard, NoScript, uBlock Origin, and uMatrix

There wouldn't be a second bullet point if Brave Shields could just do everything those extensions could in V2.

Because the two points are completely separate from each other. Brave is baked in to handle V3 that brave supports itself.

But if you want extensions toward v2 they'll support them too as long as there are devs that do so.

Brave shields limitations is mostly just the small and easy interface. It's not that configurable and that can be a plus. I don't need to spend time finding blocklist to configure myself if one of them decides to no longer be maintained or whatever.

Like brave does enough to let me ban evade reddit and even more lot of sites struggle to log me in because it never recognizes me.

I think of you went further with librewolf+unlock+no script, etc. you will start getting broken websites lol. I know I did when I tried it
