Google translate does a decent job except for "недострана", which it translates as "nemostrana". I found out that it's a made up work form "under" and "country", but what it really means I have no clue. Especially under context of the war?

Yeah, that's another way to translate it. Sometimes you've gotta make choices when translating stuff. Unfortunately, you often lose some of the original flavor.
Maybe 'pseudo state' would be the closest to something a native English speaker would say, but that doesn't have the same sting.
