bro you realize all of this footage is fake. I don't even have a navy down there and there's not even an ongoing "war" of any kind.

Glory to Russia! :marseysaluteussr:

Russian navy has always been hilariously incompetent, but you think they'd be beginning to learn some lessons this time.

This and the whole houthi thing is seriously blackpilling me about the future of surface fleets. Intercepting missiles is anyways a net loss in a war with an industrial peer like China, a proxy of a regional power apparently has targeting moving targets down so that's probably not that complicated either. Unless directed energy tech becomes viable the advantage seems completely in favour of the land power.

Iron Beam is already being field tested.

Isn't being used though. Or at least no articles about it other than that the test was a success.

Tests have been successful it's just not quite ready for mass rollout. Iirc they only have a few prototypes built.

Did they release how much energy it requires? I didn't see it in news reports. That's the major sticking point I think, if you try to use it on land you need a massively surplus power generation capacity(esp considering Israel's situation), at sea it's worse cause you're limited by standalone platforms, you'd need nuclear reactors on every destroyer or something ridiculous.

I can't find power usage directly on my phone but the cost per interception is 2 dollars so it can't be too much.
