Those are different conflicts. Territory Russia captured is literally under better control than Dagestan so Russia has no reason to leave + all people under Russian control are now Russian citizens + that territory is part of Russia.
For example here fun fact Ukraine didn't won a single battle in a city where they were on offensive. They like to boost they won Kherson city battle but there was no Kherson city battle, Russian fully retreated from that city days before Ukrainian reach that city so this operation retrospectively was an failure since they let their opponents escape from bad position and regroup to an better one and then defeat Ukrainian spring counteroffensive offensive.
There just no sign that Ukraine is going to win it's a Soviet conflict that west ain't prepared to fight. Again, you're mistaking industrial output with goals, attrition rate and dispersal of that attrition. Sure, if Russia was fighting against taking over the entire front from Baltics to Black sea the attrition rate and loss would be not only commendable but extraordinary.
What is the goal? Is it Kyiv? Is it Lviv? Is it just consolidating the Donbas? What is it?
The attrition rate and the localisation of the attrition rate tend to get worse the more localized your war goals are. Putin can't justify the occupation of 150Km since 2.22 for that high an attrition. So he has to continue however futile.
