Thing is not entirely surprising since Ukrainian had forces in that direction expecting Russian attack and Russian been bombing them for months. The surprise is that they decided to enter Russia. Booth side's defence line are 15km from the front lines so Ukraine actually got stop at those lines.
Russian were also sure that this was a bluff not real attack since that day Ukrainian also tried to land here
But failed.
So Russian I think still expect attack on Belgorod or somewhere else but with passing time and Ukrainian effort sakes Kursk was legit main effort.
