You won't believe what happened
In the southeastern part of the Kursk salient, Russian forces began counterattacks against the new Ukrainian positions in and around Cherkasskaya Konopelka and Fanaseevka.

A new pocket
Novosilka wasn't enough with a 100% wipe
Ukraine continues to having more pockets
This map seems to also now updating slow
Since Russian mod report of capturing after reinforcements has arrived
According to Zelenskyy, a "significant number" of enemy troops were destroyed. He gave no details but said the losses were in the hundreds.
Billions
Russia's Ministry of Defense said Saturday that it had repelled a Ukrainian counterattack in the Kursk region.
Russia said Friday its forces had captured the mining town of Toretsk in their latest breakthrough in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region, where Ukrainian defenses are creaking. Ukrainian officials did not confirm the report.
I just love how the reporters sucker punch it
But let's ask our expert that knows everything Ukraine is doing is right:
Since invasion of Kursk where Ukraine gained around 1400 km and now holding 400km and a town Sudzha with pre conflict population of 5000 people.
Ukraine lost those town with population over 10000 people: Kurakhove, Selydove, Hirnyk, Vuhledar, New York, Pivnichne, Ukrainsk, Krasnohorivka, Novohrodivka and of course Toretsk
You see that's why I love khohols they rush to lower the population of towns they are about to lose. I respect it and I am understandable so
So it's a 31k city.
And those clowns doing it other wise with Sudzha
They writing its population is 6k
While
So @rdramamademegay was it worth holding 400km of basically rural farm land in Kursk while losing land in the most populated and mineral rich region ? I ask pure rational question no need for emotional answers.
There is very good reason why Trump asking Zelenskyy to leave Kursk since Putin told there won't be any peace talk until Ukrainian are in Kursk and this month Ukraine is about to lose more than 400km in Kharkiv. Putin can get that land back when he wants and while Ukraine send its best men to Kursk and launches reckless offensive in zone where they are now outnumbered is a great gift for Putin in an attrition war.
Also here funny event
This week Korean soldiers left
But Ukraine offensive failed and they getting owned so this weekend
North Korean returned
@rdramamademegay Fact check this genius

Yes Kursk was worth it. Even if it "fails" at granting any major concessions, it will forever be an incredibly humiliating stain on Russia.
There simply isn't a universe where Kursk isn't a W, especially since it massively rallied support from Ukraine from the western public, which was otherwise already bored by the war, and this increased pressure definitely had an effect on speeding up the slow drip of weapons+approval to strike within Russian territory

This is what vatniks don't understand, the simple fact that ukros are still in Kursk is massively embarrassing for Russia, just being sieged up in some hole without having any chances of surviving would humiliating enough, but ukros are still fighting the zigger army on the regular. There's literally no way for Putin's reputation to ever recover from this war, even if he somehow destroys Ukraine completely tomorrow

Putin is dead in the next 5 years, his reputation doesn't matter

Yeah, but their cope that Russia is just about to win is bullshit because even if Russia does win it will still have it's reputation ruined for years. No chance of recovering while Putin is still in charge no matter how long his reign will last. Next russian leader will inherit a huge shithole, even worse than Russia is in general, and there's no guarantee that he'll be ablt to make Russia feared again

It's true that this war did massive damage to the zigger army's image
5 years ago if you asked european soldiers they would all tell you we didn't stand a chance against glorious Rasha. That if Putin wanted to he could destroy all of Europe; maybe lose 5% of his population in the process but them's the breaks and that's how the ruskies do war.
Because, russians just have all this crazy gear right ? And they've got so much more than us ! They have 4 bazillion tanks and stealth fighters that can teleport behind you. And their soldiers throw tomahawks while doing somersaults haven't you seen the
ridiculous propagandasuper legit training videos ???But it turns out that was all bullshit.

Dude I asked you not to give emotional answer. People will forget about it as fast as they forgot all promises Zelenskyy made about victory in 2023 and how he will chill in Crimea. Or all the game changers.
Russian don't give a frick about it now so they won't give a frick about it after. Only who will jerk about it is you since there will be nothing to jerk about Ukrainian victory.
This all just made things worse for Ukraine since they now don't have a cope game changer. They can't now cry about "if west let them strike Russia they win". So it made Russian position stronger now since it a proof it did nothing to save Ukraine. And there wasn't drip of weapons no new packages were approved by US since April 2024

I'm sorry but humiliating Russia's army isn't just "emotional". It absolutely has had, and will have even more of an effect on how effective Russia's influence is. You need to have the military might to be able to back that shit up, and if ukraine manages to take and hold this land, and you can't kick them out despite promising that you'd do it, and they outlived your deadlines, TWICE.
It makes Russia look weak. That's not just an "emotional" thing and if you can't see that it's because you've intentionally blinded yourself

That's emotional since I doubt losing 20% of your gdp to hold 0,003% of Russian territory is a rational move. And it's also emotional to think that generals in other countries don't see how stupid is what Ukraine is doing, sending all their best western gears to be wiped out in that rural area where they don't have AD cover
They send one of their rare mine cleaner (it's not abrams it something newer) in latest Kursk offensive to make similar meme:
So you being emotional thinking an obviously stupid operation that has no chances of success is some big blow to Russia.
This operation let Russian capture Toretsk region and Vuhledar region two things that were problematic to Russian
