I don’t like the MLS structure, promotion/relegation is the law of the land for 99% of leagues for a reason, it’s by far the most entertaining. The club names are really cringe too. Of course I would love if soccer got more popular here, but I haven’t seen many signs of it except for the big cities. I went to Columbus Crews opener this season and it had genuine energy and enthusiasm.

Also not many seem to know who Messi is here, I would say Beckham was definitely more well known among average Americans.

I have hope one day we’ll see soccer enter the American zeitgeist, after all it is objectively the best sporting product to watch once you know what you’re watching.

I went to Columbus Crews opener this season and it had genuine energy and enthusiasm.

Tbh the Columbus Crew seems to be one of the few MLS clubs that seem to have a real fanbase and historic, and not some crappy expansion team with a euro name.
