Soccer will not get popular because of the type of people who are trying to make it popular :marseyshrug:

Most people watch the sports they played (or got really into) when they were young. The people who care about sports tend to be poorer and/or working class and a lot of the hipster appeal of soccer is that it's not a 'middle state' sport. Why would the people who actually watch sports care about something that actively dislikes them?

That said, there are some good reasons to watch outside of the US :marseyagree:
