Apparent facts:
1. India demanded that each goal they scored counted for three. Nigeria agreed.
2. India demanded the game be played barefoot. Nigeria agreed.
3. India would immediately lose the game if Nigeria scored a single goal. This, of course makes special rule 1 redundant.
The game was a special exhibition match played a couple of months after the official end of Nigeria's civil war. Fighting was still ongoing in the north and nobody else but India would go anywhere near Nigeria.
Nigeria's national team had recently returned from a tour of Bongistan, playing various club teams such as the mighty Marine Crosby FC and the titans of Bishop Aukland. Their final game was played at Liverpool against South Liverpool FC and the tour was considered a great success.
