Idk how white people live in Houston or Austin. I grew up in the north and the 40c heat when I visited where you need to go from shadow to shadow when in public is weird. I guess locals only just ever walk from their cars<>BBQ restaurant entrance.

yeah that's probably the main difference here since a lot of people take public transport where you'd inevitably be exposed to the elements

i've started taking public transport again these past few months after several years of only driving and it does get :marseyburn: when you exit the air-conditioned buses or train stations lol

but it's a pretty fun way to explore the island so it's not that bad lol
