The difference is that to a job, you are dispensable. Your company has no feelings towards you other than how much money you can make them. Women are much more complex - if her attraction to you hinges on if you say she's beautiful or not, you've already fricked the program up (and she's for the streets anyways).

I agree with you, except that I believe in telling the truth when you're in a serious relationship. If a woman I'm long-term committed to was genuinely the absolute most beautiful girl I've ever been with, I'd tell her that, and if she's not, I'd tell her the truth about that too. (Though obviously I wouldn't volunteer tidbits like "Your butt looks fat" unless she specifically asked me because I'm honest, not r-slurred)
But I've dated some real stunners in my youth, so getting that "most beautiful girl" compliment would be pretty fricking hard
