If it came with a salary increase I'd be a PM in a heartbeat. All you have to do is document why your peons say they aren't done yet and replace them next quarter.

My good PM (smart, competent, easy to work with) just got promoted and her backfill (disorganized, inexperienced, doesn't understand the project) can't even navigate our kanban board without fumbling around and murmuring under his breath. This week he's technically still ramping up but next week is
Project Manager roles vary by company, but IME it's normal to expect a PM to take notes. Also this woman has apparently been let go 6(!) times in the last few years, so she might want to consider being a compliant wagie

I'm always surprised to hear about PMs outside of my experience where I work. Ours are all workaholics and it's QA and Ops that need constant pushes to do anything
