I used to have a wavy bob-length haircut. Got a "mens" haircut and suddenly everyone thinks I'm a they/them and get called that regularly...only by other queer people. Seems to me like they're a little too focused on gender norms. It annoys me only because I don't think there is one right way to be a woman. Theyre reinforcing the gender binary as they try to defy it. It's refreshing to hear your perspective because in my circles I always feel alone in this.
