Worldwide there were 14 confirmed shark-related fatalities last year, including 10 classified as unprovoked. There are roughly 500 casss of filicide per year in the United States alone, of which more than half are mothers murdering their progeny.

Spear-fishing or baiting the sharks, maybe? I know nurse sharks frequent reefs and stuff where people snorkel. I hear a lot of stories about people yanking on their tails and shit and getting chomped, but I don't think they've killed anyone
