GW nerds bussies are so blasted loose there is more than enough room to fit in a gock too.
made a single mistake and alienated its fans, GW has been abusing its playerbase for decades and they just bite the pillow harder

Theyve been working hard to make the actual game literally unplayable and yet they still keep coming

For years I was quietly content to play Warhammer Fantasy with my friends and read some discussion of it online, but recently GW has released that they're doing something in the setting again and it's put me back into contact with a certain kind of warg*mer I've not seen for many years.
People posting about rebasing their army for the new rules that GW has promised and revealed absolutely nothing about and making armies exclusively to play this new edition that is nothing more than a logo and a map. Fantasy isn't the best ruleset in the world, but you've got multiple different editions to choose from, as well as fan made rules that cater to different types of players and have expanded to cover armies GW would never touch. Independent sculptors release compatible miniatures every month, but no, it doesn't have the big daddy GW seal of approval and you can't have fun unless GW gives it the OK. Makes me head hurt.

I like one page rules, but it's got the depth of a teacup and gets old quick. Good for introducing newbies to wargaming though and for weaning GW addicts.
Warmaster is probably my ruleset of choice if you want one of the best rank and flank wargames, although I'm also fond of Impetus.
I mostly play Fantasy because of nostalgia and because I genuinely enjoy the needless granularity and throwing buckets of dice.

I played whfb arpund 5 or 6th edition. I had vampire counts but the game was pretty unbalanced and if you got curbstomped in the magic phase it was pretry over for them

Fantasy has always had completely garbage rules. Storm of Magic was the only time the game actually worked.

One of these days I'm going to try my hand at rewriting the core rules to move away from IGOUGO, but until then I've had fun playing friendly, smaller point warband and skirmish games with my friends.

Warmachine failed horrifically twice for a reason.

Yeah, because they attracted the worst people in wargaming and mismanaged themselves out of existence.
