You now realize, hipsters had a point. Why would anyone want their favorite thing become popular? Becoming more mainstream always ruins it. :marseysick:

Ska is the only thing that started out bad and got worse as it evolved

the Ska hate is lost to my zoomer mind. I really don’t know why Millennials hate is so much.

it was one of those things that exploded in popularity all of the sudden, and then people got real fricking sick of it cause there was a lot of low quality material coming out. So it's left a bad taste in people's mouth

Because it's funny to hate it, like nickleback or 100 gecs or drake. But most of it is also really bad. Ska bands were basically proto emo garage bands.

It just seems like fun pop punk with horns.

Maybe my brain is too broken from listening to pop punk and emo.

Every day I’m reminded that Zoomers unironically revere the complete garbage Millennials were subjected to as teenagers. :marseydoomer:

4. Many of the criticisms of Family Guy are often poorly substantiated and come from a trend present specifically in millennials and gen-x individuals; the trend to "hate" a certain piece of entertainment for the sake of hating it. A similar phenomenon could be witnessed with the Star Wars prequels, which were hated in the mid-2000s and early 2010s but are now miraculously beloved (often by the same people who hated them at first). We should therefore not confuse genuine criticism with influenced criticism, in this case, influenced by a particular trend that originated in mid-2000s internet culture. The embodiment of that "trend" being the multi-part episode "Cartoon Wars" released by South Park in 2006; which criticized family guy but lacked any real substance to said criticism. It has been pointed out by Trey Parker himself that the fact that the majority of Hollywood hated Family Guy in the mid-2000s can partially be attributed to JEALOUSY reasons regarding its high ratings.

ska was the most polarizing music trend ever, possibly. Good ska is okay but bad ska is terrible and there was a LOT of bad ska

I like happy trumpet noises and ska made that a thing. I think they were a net positive on modern music.
