At least in Skyrim they bothered to differentiate most of the regions of the province. Oblivion was so bad about it. I don't think I would mind if Hammerfell was built more like Skyrim in terms of regional diversity - ideally the different settings would have different mechanical or emotional impact, like how the Morrowind regions had their own gameplay and story identities, but I'd be happy just to not go back to Cyrodiil (or an equally-boring wasteland).

People rag on Skyrim a lot but it had its high moments. Fractured holds, especially regarding crime, was a really good addition. The varied geography alone was really well done and it's mostly why people still suck it's peepee and say βI forgot how beautiful this game wasβ like 3 billion years after release
In Oblivion I only noticed more Nords and snow in Bruma while there were more Argonians and Khajiit and swamp the further you went south. I love Oblivion but it just has so much blah in it.
Tbh I'm hoping for a Valenwood/Elsweyr/Alinor game, anything that can show the Dominion in a light that's not just βelf nazis.β What will probably happen is High Rock or maybe Hammerfell if we're really lucky. And if we're incredibly lucky we'll get to see two sides of a Dominion/Hammerfell conflict, but I'm not holding my breath.

I liked starfield. I put a pretty significant amount of hours into it.

They wanted it to be a space sim at first but
realized that would be a huge turn-off to most people. Too many different studios and different people were working on it, so they weren't able to recover and it lacks a coherent vision besides "Bethesda space game". They'll fix it but just like cyberpunk if you already played it and didn't like it the sour taste will still be there and things you wanted fixed that weren't will be even more frustrating.
If you kill the Starborn at the end (instead of talking them down like a complete dork) there's a nice boss fight where you jump between dimensions and tons of civilians get mowed down in the crossfire. Really should've done a smaller version of that with the starborn protecting the temples instead of making me float around in zero g.

That was my thought when I played it.
The direction is all over the place. There are clear indicators that they shifted direction late in development.
Despite it's blinding mid-ness, the shit does have good bones. If they added a survival mode that requires fuel to travel and fricked with the POIs, I can see that as being a good game.
Survival in FO4 was a fantastic addition that really tied all the base-building and faction shit together into a cohesive experience. Now building a base and stashing equipment has purpose, those little nooks and niches scattered throughout the commonwealth can be a life-saver. Survival mode slowed it down and raised the stakes, and that's all FO4 needed to be a great game my eyes.
