I don't get it…it looks like so many open world crafting games. What's the big draw with this one?

I played it a few hours with friends today, nothing really. It basically has pokemon like creatures you catch and can use to fight with and help with tasks but mechanics wise its just another open world crafting game. The whole schtick is its “pokemon with guns” but if you think games like Rust are boring the schtick isn't going to keep you entertained. Its grindy as all heck and the fighting mechanics aren't really special.

The factorio/rimworld factor looks a bit interesting too me. @The_Ghost_Poster got gifted it so if it sucks at least @The_Ghost_Poster won't have too much regret.

There is nothing remotely comparable to Rimworld or Factorio in it. The scale of automation is closer to slaving out your younger sibling in Rust.

Hi, peepeesucker!

:marseywave:

Can you make circuits and dumb computers like in minecraft?

Not even close. The pokemon just automate grindy tasks, like planting berries in dirt and chopping trees around your base. But its not a factory like the game trailer shows. One pokemon can be used per base level up to a max of 20. And it takes fricking forever to level up.

The draw is Pokemon but it just highlights the subhumanity of g*mers. They'll turn you into a millionaire if you feed them the right blend of open world survival as long as you include zombies or their favourite anime from the ages of 9-39

g*mers aren't people.

Put tons of money into streaming bounties ( this is honestly the biggest thing). AI art assets, borderline stolen sound effects, borderline stolen pokemon.

But really, if shit as lame as rust and valheim and ark get the people going somehow, they'll play basically play any game with the crafting sandbox angle.

The children yearn for the mines. Also 30 USD or less is a really good price point, frick 70 dollar games.

I haven't bought it but I know for a fact that there are a lot of G*mers™ who enjoy pokemon games, but Nintendo is a rotten pile of shit and every higher up in that company deserves to be crucified, so any non-nintendo pokemon game is bound to be popular if it's not completely trash.

I thought the same thing and as a long time survival game fan it's literally just open world pokemon survival game. Like that's honestly it imo. Its a focused pve survival game with pokemon. 7 days to die, conan, and ark are worlds better survival games.
