Live service games are a poisoned chalice. They cost a ton to maintain and kids are already grinding fortnite so you can bet they wont hope onto crap like this. Its sort of a self feeding prophecy. If a live service game is to survive it needs a lot of players and players arent willing to touch a new one in fear it will die and theyll have wasted 70$ + a battle pass on a game which dies in a few years.

Does anyone ask for these buzz word title games? No one I know is looking for an always online looter shooter.

I feel like people have their online games they play and the only way to move the needle is to do something wild and different like Palworld. Palworld is definitely a ripoff of loads of other games but it's our together in a new and unique enough way to get people's attention. Versus generic looter shooter, or extraction shooter, or BR that companies pump out

Lol game as a service but not sending out a review copy. I guess they are hoping to make some of the money back on initial sales and then letting it die.

Same reason why metal gear babilon, acid, portable ops never got digital release, basically og devs bitching that the game made by other devs is non canon and very bad so they shouldn't get rerelease
